GEW in Minsk, 18-24.11.2013
Belarus has formally joined Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in 2011 and has become one of 137 countries participating in the largest entrepreneurial initiative around the world. In 2012 Belarus was selected among top-5 GEW organizers globally.
“Creating a conducive enterprising environment is vital to foster economic growth in Belarus. It is time for Belarus to join the world leaders’ community of Entrepreneurship. A large number of events and extensive coverage of them will contribute to real results and initiatives. This would be also a very important step toward increased awareness of entrepreneurship culture and mindset”
Jonathan Ortmans, President of Global Entrepreneurship Week
GEW Belarus activities, coordinated by BELBIZ Center of Business Communication, take place in all Belarus regions and include International Entreprenuership Forum, startup cmpetition “BEL.BIZ Battle”, Mentor of the Year contest, start-up networking events,master-classes, workshops and panel discussions. More than 2000 people take part in GEW Belarus.
Much more than just seven days, Global Entrepreneurship Week is an entrepreneurial movement of individuals and organizations: inspiring, connecting and equipping entrepreneurs while showcasing the support that is available to them all year round.
“We are proud to welcome Belarus into our global network of people and organizations dedicated to unleashing new ideas that build economies and expand human welfare. I encourage everyone throughout the country to rally around this initiative and explore the steps necessary to create an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs and their startups”.
